Contact Lens Exams & Fittings

If you have worn contacts for years or are considering them for the first time, Rhode Eyeland makes finding the right lens convenient and comfortable. Thanks to advances in lens technology, almost everyone is a candidate for contact lenses — including patients with astigmatism, presbyopia, and difficult-to-fit prescriptions.

  • Daily disposable soft lenses — the healthiest option for most wearers

  • Two-week and monthly soft lenses

  • Toric lenses for astigmatism

  • Multifocal and bifocal lenses for presbyopia

  • Extended-wear options

  • Rigid gas-permeable (RGP) lenses for sharper vision and complex prescriptions

  • Specialty and custom fits

New to contacts? Ask about Fit & Teach

Our Contact Lens Fit & Teach service walks first-time wearers through insertion, removal, hygiene, and lens care so you leave feeling confident. We match you with a lens style that fits your lifestyle — sports, screen time, all-day wear, occasional weekend use.

Patients told they cannot wear contacts often can with the right professional fitting. We see patients with astigmatism, dry eyes, keratoconus, post-surgical corneas, and other complex cases. If a previous fitting did not work for you, we suggest you try again.

Hard-to-fit eyes welcome

  • Comprehensive eye exam (required to confirm your eyes are healthy enough for lens wear)

  • Corneal measurements and tear-film evaluation

  • Trial lens fitting and follow-up evaluation

  • Personalized instruction for new wearers

  • Annual contact lens prescriptions and lens supply
